The Steamer State of New York ran from Cleveland to Mackinac and back, stopping at Put-in-Bay and many other ports on the way.

In 1904 she went aground off Middle Bass Island in heavy fog and was pulled off successfully a day or two later.

In 1905 her shaft failed on a trip from Cleveland to Put-in-Bay and she was reported lost until she arrived at Put-in-Bay 11 hours late.

Of the two photos, one is at Put-in-Bay and the other at Cleveland.
